This bread is made with locally grown wheat bread flour and locally grown whole grain spelt flour. It is studded with sweet organic California raisins and cinnamon is woven in the dough as well as presented in a swirl through the bread. With just a hint of sweetness, this is a great breakfast bread and is also wonderful with your afternoon tea. We love it toasted and spread with butter!
As with all our breads, we use no commercial yeast and our dough is 100% naturally leavened with a long fermentation period. This yields a delicious bread that’s more nutritious and also highly digestible.
When bread is completely cooled, we recommend slicing and freezing. This is the best way to preserve the freshness if it won’t be consumed within a day or so. Take out as many slices as you want and pop into the toaster for a fresh baked experience.
